Carmen Botman qualified as an occupational therapist in 2000. She has worked in a range of treatment facilities, both in South Africa and abroad with a special interest in hand therapy and rehabilitation.
After moving across the country in 2010 with her husband, she started working for a large insurance company as a disability claims consultant. She remained in this position for 7 years.
Throughout most of her late-teen and adult life, she has been an indie fiction author and has always had a keen interest in language and editing.
Carmen holds a certificate in Copy-editing from the University of Cape Town, as well a certificate for the Grammar for Writers course from the SA Writers College .
She is an associate member of the Professional Editors’ Guild.
She lives in sunny Pretoria with her family and two labradors.
